Pallisa district will hold primary by-elections for the LC5 chairperson in the 54 villages before the winner shall be declared.
Up to date, Pallisa district has not yet announced the LC5 winner since from Friday last week following the election related malpractices where one village could go beyond 500 votes.
The declaration forms indicate that the votes were rigid from the 54 villages in the seven sub counties which include Pallisa, Pallisa town council, Kasodo, Olok, Apopong, Akisim and Gogonyo.
In the meeting held yesterday at the district council chambers aimed at declaring the LC5 winner, KijajiAlimpa the NRM electoral commission deputy chairperson decided the by-elections to be conducted on 17th this month in order to come with clear results
Joseph Okoboi, one of the aspirants said that the commissioner would have used other modalities of declaring the results instead of putting by-elections
Patrick Duchu, one of the aspirants who scored the highest votes on the alleged election malpractices says that the commissioner would have declared him as the winner because the declaration forms were filled and signed by the district election officials
