Soroti district corona virus task force committee has resolved to effect compulsory wearing of face masks in order to prevent the spread of the disease.
Simon EdoruEkuu the vice chairperson Soroti district local government says the development was resolved yesterday during the covid-19 district task force meeting.
This comes following President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s directive to the citizens of Uganda on compulsory wearing of face masks as a means of curbing easy spread of corona virus in the country.
According to Edoru, they are first going to sensitize the local population on various local radio stations about their move and those who fail to adhere to the set guidelines will be dealt with accordingly.
However, Emmanuel Erebu the parish councillor representing Amoru parish challenged government to provide face masks to people since a majority cannot afford to purchase them.
